Evening ladies

How have you all been? Missing your company very much, those near and far, *sighs*

So let's see what's been happening...

Dinner @ Kat & Dave's:
Much talking, much discussion, much laughing. Much food. Ooooh foood. So it was Moroccan food. Moroccan lamb rack, roasted rare, ooops sorry, I've never cooked rack of lamb before so I didn't know how long it would've needed in the oven, yes served rare, so to my liking but not really to others. Tahini-ed cauliflower, spiced carrots, green beans and zee infamous spiced couscous.
Kat made dessert, which was an apple crumble (it looked good it really did, I would've eaten it if I could!), watermelon and a chocolate slice for me.
Thank you inviting us for dinner, we had a great time and great chatting, hope you guys weren't too tired the next morning.

Dinner @ La Grillade in Crows Nest:
Well Phil and I hadn't had a dinner out since our anniversary in February, so we went to La Grillade for STEAK! Walked into a very warm restaurant, fireplace and grill on one side, dark but not too dark creating a good ambience. Bistro/restaurant kind of atmosphere I guess. Bread rolls first, warm, crusty and soft with a large pat of butter, and water and coke to drink.
Phil had one doz. snails in garlic butter, looks gooood.

I had the terrine of pork brawn with capers and cornichons, curly endive, served with bread (not pictured). I was choosing between the lamb's brains or terrine so terrine it was, and was quite good I dare say. I just layered all that good pork on and delicately shovelled it down.

We both knew what we wanted, well Phil was contemplating the fish of the day, but I truly only had one thing on my mind, oooooooh baby, wagyu me up, sooo good. We both had the "Wagyu breed rib eye 'Kobe' style 280g! marble score 9 plus, grain fed 500 days, 100% Tajima Wagyu". I had mine with Bernaise and Phil's with Red Wine mushroom sauce, served with green beans in garlic butter, potato mash or chips.
Soooooo good, melts in your mouth, barely even need to chew, chargrilled to medium (as recommended), ooooh the best steak we've ever had... *drools*

And yes, be ashamed of me, I couldn't finish it!! I had at least 70g left on my plate and I passed it to Phil to gobble up for me *I know I know*
I also had a glass of Yalumba Shiraz with it, surprisingly good, or maybe it's the company, food and ambience as well ;)
Much too full for dessert so we bypassed all the gelati cafes and headed straight home, too full of steak. Mmmm... wagyu. We've been spoiled now, no steak will ever be good enough.

Work:
Has been hard, flogged everyday since Sunday, and in addition to that, I woke up this morning at 0410 finding it quite difficult to breathe, thankfully it wasn't an asthma attack but I could feel that the wheeze would've been next. So I've called in sick and I've taken yesterday and today (Friday) off. It's hard, man it's hard. I've come back home chanting "I hate my life, I hate my life, I hate my life, I hate my life". No I don't hate my life, I hate the position that I've been put into everyday at work. Life was easy in CCU and CCL. It's amazing the abuse you get as a nurse in ED, bullying from other nurses, doctors, patients, patients' families, from all sides, and you've only got yourself to hold yourself up at work. And you trudge your way back to the car and drive home, just wanting to have a shower, pack your bag and head to sleep just to forget the day and get as much energy as possible for the next. Wow, do I sound bitter or what. I just thank God that He's here for me, and thank God for Philip, I honestly don't know how I'd cope without his hugs.

So life is as is, someone screwed me over in my shifts for this month, it's all late shifts so I won't have an evening with Phil til the 22nd May, and finally an entire day together on the 24th, well til 9pm!! Then we're screwed over again til the 31st when we get to have dinner together, and church on the 1st and Monday 2nd til 9pm again. Damn shiftwork.

So yesterday I've made a batch of chicken soup to fight this flu and keep my fluids up, and I need to make something for lunch for the conference on Saturday. Hope I don't give it to anyone, the flu that is.

Need to buy:
- dishwashing dryer holder thingy - I chucked it out coz it was broken, now all my plates and cookware's sitting on a towel on the sink.

In other news
- I lost a bra strap at work, I saw the right shoulder strap coming out from under my blouse and I was too busy to fix it up, and now I'm missing a strap :( Lucky I have spares.
- realised: I have lots of arborio rice at home. As in 4 x 500g packets.
- realised: bills really do add up
- have found: a coffee plunger, would anyone like one? I now use a stovetop espresso maker so I've got an unused one, still in the packaging now sitting on the dining table.

ps: sorry about the apple in the apple crumble *smacks head again* and thanks again for bringing the food! in case anyone thinks I managed to make such a marvellous meal... Pun brought over the dinner (isn't she lovely!)

ED sounds really hard. Keep being nice to patients :) I had to go back in (at Concord this time - nice change from RPA) on Wed night, and had the meanest nurse with an incredible sarcasm-eye-rolling ability. She made me cry. So I've told Dave I'm never going to hospital again unless it's your hospital. Hmptt!

    Lovies! xx
