"Yes our engagement justifies a blog post"
Yes, I can hear all you girls laughing right now,
Yesterday (19/7) we (I) had booked tickets for Phantom at Star City, so we drove to Strathfield and parked and took the train into the city. We had a nice leisurely walk from Town Hall to Star City (mind you I'm wearing heels and it's digging into my toes by the time we hit Little Snail) and we were waylaid by the 1400 Pyrmont Bridge demonstration.
By the time we got to Lyric Theatre, we were both thirsty so Phil got a bottle of coke and a small tube of Pringles while I got a frozen Sex on the Beach (I can make them better!) which he very kindly paid for ;) We sat on stools drinking up, eating chips, looking through the Program whilst waiting for the show to start.
We had seats J20 and 21, which is left of the stage in the stalls but with an EXCELLENT view 'cause the people who were supposed to be in the row in front of us didn't turn up, so we had unhindered views of the stage (first time ever I haven't had a gigantic head obstructing my view!). Anthony Warlow was the Phantom in this matinee session and it was superb! Some changed lyrics from the original cast in 'Think of Me' and 'Letters no. 1' as far as I can remember, and the alternate lyrics were running through my head at specific moments *winks at Trees*. You know, the more I watch POTO, the more overtly sexual I find 'Point of No Return', whoa, look at where those hands are going *Pun fans herself*.
So afterwards, I bought a poster at the Merchandise store and seriously considered the thermal mug.
So it started drizzling when we walked past Rossini and CQ station, past Gelatissimo and the restaurants on the Quay with their heaters outside and candlielit dinners. It was a quiet night, Sunday and all with lots of pilgrims around and lots of shops closed. By the time we hit the Lower Concourse at the SOH it started drizzling more heavily, so we ducked under and placed our bags on the tables outside The Studio, hugging each other to keep warm and whispering sweet nothings ;)
Both look down at the seat
Pun: "Oh, it's all wet, do you want me to dry it then we can sit down?"
Pun facing the Bridge sticks out her bum and starts to wipe a little spot dry with her thick black jacket.
Phil: "Jasmin?"
Pun sitting down, turns to face Phil, he's on one knee, his right hand holding Pun's left hand.
Phil: "Will you marry me?"
Phil says smiling with beautiful blue eyes, gorgeous smile, wonderfully soft looking lips *achem*. Pun considers making him wait a bit.
Pun: "Well what should I say?" Pun says smiling, she waits a few seconds, and a few more "Yes I will marry you."
Both stand, holding onto each other and *blank blank blank* and *blank blank blank*
So we decide to get some dinner, coz I was starving(!) so onto Rossini's holding each other very closely coz I was freezing and the bottoms of my long pants were soaking wet from walking in the rain. We rush on over, tried not to bump into the crowds of pilgrims but happily talking about 'The Dark Knight' and other random things. Both with stupid grins on our faces.
So Phil paid for the meals (Italian meatballs and veg, and a Hawaiian pizza), and I paid for 2 lemon squashes, and a peppermint tea. So we sms-ed people, received phone calls, grinned at each other, kissed etc.
And we headed on home after dinner, and it was early, around 10ish back at my place.
Now, there's a lot of organising to do, my goodness.

Phil: "I can't believe it takes a proposal to warrant a blog post."So a lot has happened over these past few months. And yes, we are both OFFICIALLY engaged! Such a relief, now I don't have to hide it from anyone, which is kind of sad in the first place anyway.
Pun: "I was tired last night..." *grinning*
Phil: "Now you can tell the internet stalkers that you're taken."
Pun: *smirks* "Honey, you're the only one checking if I've blogged."
"Think of it, a secret engagement, look, your future bride... Just think of it..." Christine, Masquerade, POTOI'm guessing you want to know how he officially proposed...

So afterwards, I bought a poster at the Merchandise store and seriously considered the thermal mug.
Phil: "I heard that they've done something to the Bridge for World Youth Day, I wanna go see it."The merchandise store ran out of bags so we walked up to Woolies Express to buy a green bag so as not to crush the poster and carry various things such as Phil's coke and my tissue box since it was getting a little tiresome carrying them. My toes were about to burst by the time we hit Supre on George St and I vowed to myself, "I am going to buy the next pair of thongs I see." So with an occasional yank on Phil's arm to slow down, we stopped into a souvenir shop/internet cafe and I bought the most patriotic pair of things ever, Australian flag thongs, and sweet bleeding relief it was gooooood... And now with a happier Pun, we continued to walk up to Circular Quay at a steadier rate.
Pun: "Yea sure, let's do that." *"Humphf, he's got something planned, and I hope it's what I think it is"*

Phil: "Come on, you wanna pop out there, take a closer look at the water"Setting: evening, cloudy, very light drizzle, cool weather, Phil and Pun walking towards the white seat facing the lit up Harbour Bridge with changing pictures of WYD ads
Pun: "Mmmhmm..." *"he's not that willing to go into the rain unless it's important"*
Both look down at the seat
