I've got coconuts!

So the fundraising dinner for Beach Mission was tonight (28th). Twas good. Not really too much to say about it from my end. A good night for lots of laughing, chatting, giggling and nice food. And I won a coconut a la Holy Grail style ($12) was hoping to start a bidding war with Steve but he didn't want to! Will be bringing them along next time we have a Holy Grail night. Yays!! Night kinda degraded into a coconut/boobs affair after that. (Which seems to have been the trend for the past few weeks).
In slight pain currently, my deltoids and my back muscles are in oowww...... pain. It was the Fusion class at Parra on Friday. Doing moves like something out of a hip hop video. Man, as much as I love popping my chest out... my deltoids and back can't take that much...

So when are we getting together to celebrate for Hons people. I'll be invading your house some time soon Alex. Hope you don't mind, also for snooping around for home needs/presents (it may be good to go straight to the source).

Anyone up for coffee or tea? Exams for uni people now? Or is it stuvac? Miss you guys muchly and wanna chat.

KAREN: Was that letter for the RN and Midwives Board/Committee? It wasn't clear on the ballot.

Recent purchases:
- 1 coconut (in halves) - good for mimicking horse clopping sounds
- red dress from TOL
- red CANTEEN bandanna on Friday
- Enigma - A Posteriori - not as good as before 'Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi!'. Not as many songs with lyrics and cannot differentiate between the various songs. Possibly need to listen to it more often to find the differences. But then again, my phase for Enigma has kind of faded out since year 11. I loved year 10 art class when I'd listen to Enigma ("I love you, I'll kill you") and not even pretend to listen to Fyfie Boy.

Tonight at YABS

Well let's see, 1 Cor 14: 1-25, always an interesting topic, and controversial to say the least. Gifts of prophecy and gifts of tongues. Evangelicals, Pentecostals, people who are in indifferent, people who base their beliefs on the Bible, always controversial and always have differing opinions on this, depending on the experience you've had.

Praying in tongues (e.g. Italian, Gaelic or tongues of the angels) should not be spoken aloud in church unless there's an interpreter present because it wouldn't do good in edifying the church. That's pretty clear.

And also discussed was prophecy and how it's defined as the Word of God shared. Also as who shares it. And that even if someone comes up to you and says "God told me to say to you etc." always make sure it's backed up by scripture please. If it contradicts the Bible, there's not really a basis to it. It may be someone you respect, but I just wouldn't be able to take them seriously unless I knew they had a good knowledge of the Bible.
For example, if someone at church says "Darling, God spoke to me and said that you should date blah blah." yea... ha. Riiiight, and that's based on....what? I don't think it says anywhere, "X must date Y, and X and Y must get engaged, and must get married within 2 years, and then X and Y must have 3 babies, and then X must torture the middle child because Jan Brady syndrome is so funny." I find it so bizarre that some people may do that.
So what do you people think about tongues? Believe in it? Spoke in tongues before?
Admittedly I have heard tongues and it didn't seem to connect with me, seems some churches *coughpentcough* contradict the New Testament where they say only those who speak tongues are christians, have they read the New Testament?? Hellooooooo???

Next week, the rest of chapter 14 will be fun and torturous, possibly on par with the 1 Cor 11 topic.

So how are you Hons people going? Finished? Another couple of hours to go? Tell tell and we'll go celebrate!

Reminders:
- Fundraising dinner on Saturday - darnit J, you know I didn't actually say "Yes". I said "But I already went to the FEVA one and that costed $$$..." I didn't actually say "I'll go." *huff in indignation* Meanwhile I do have an extra $182 from the refunded SAF from UWS. (Yays!) so I can afford it, still *huffs*

Oh BTW:
I currently have a NAB cheque from the uni, my bank is the Commonwealth bank, do I go to NAB or Commonwealth to get my money back? *shrugs* anyone?

Good film, I liked it.

Firstly woke up around 0650 this morning, got picked up by Fi around 0740 to head to church for Women's Srping Breakfast at 0800. Was good, Fi gave a talk on shame and honour for women in South Asia, she'll be heading out as a missionary there next year, pray that she'll be safe and guarded and can share the Good Word.

Then B and I went to the gym for a one-hour session, which wasn't as strenous as preferred but still worked its purpose. Then to Woolies and my house for lunch. Just got some bread rolls, roast chicken, made a warm pumpkin salad with feta, pinenuts, mixed salad leaves and creamy pesto dressing. Mmmmmm... nice.
And Michelle joined us for the last 3 episodes of Little Britain 3 and chatting :)

Then got an extra hour of sleep (all up 2.5h for the whole day) and got picked up and beeped at continuously (grrr...) to go see 'The Departed' at Parra with B, Mish, Vero and Adam.

'The Departed' - Recommended!
Not so badder film, considering it's an American remake of the HK 'Infernal Affairs'. Michelle watches it so she can swoon at Matt Damon, whereas B watches it for Leonardo DiCaprio, whereas I watch it for the blood, shooting and violence. Lol, I thought it was quite funny, lots of funny lines, scenes, crassness, a lot of swearing but sadly you get kinda used to it. Good twists and some shocks (moreso disappointments at who gets killed). But no it's not a comedy, it's action. Still having pretty boys cry and bleed is enjoyable to watch ;) Hey, I'm not Sadomasochist for nothing ;)
Will have to watch 'Infernal Affairs' to compare.

Kinda tired now, must wipe face, change into PJs and hop into warm bed with electric blanket on 3, yea... must turn off timer (don't wanna wake at 0650 again).

Can anyone guess what song this is (in English) and by whom?

I love contradictory proverbs

(from Schott's Miscellany by Ben Schott)
No fool like an old fool ... ... ... With age comes wisdom
Great minds think alike ... ... ... Idiots seldom differ
Absence makes the heart grow fonder ... ... ... Out of sight, out of mind

To the last one, I prefer to use "Time heals all wounds"

Starting to go to Sunday night church again, haven't been for ages (well considering it didn't start up again until quite recently). You know, after singing in the front at church and now being older and seeing the young'uns sing and play, kinda makes me feel old in a good way. Also I don't think I could do it again anyway, even if I wanted to. Still, love singing and love music. And dancing.

Unhappy note: can't go bellydancing this semester. No way to get there and noone to do it with me. :( Ah well, next semester perhaps, will train up those abs now *lol abs, yea*. BTW have lost 5kg since gymming, I don't know where I lost it... definitely not cup size... perhaps from thighs??
Currently making a database of all the books I have. Have only battled what's on my desk, bedside table, less than half on my floor, one small cupboard shelf and whatever's visible on my 2nd shelf of 4 levelled bookshelf. And that's only 104. I suspect there's another 400-450 to go in my room, and then another 200-300 in the garage. My room is a fire hazard, and also reader's dream/nightmare.

Movies recently watched:
Take The Lead (2006): if you like feel good, dancing movies, I recommend. Especially for a no-brainer movie. I love both tango scenes. *drool* what would I do to dance tango with a guy I love. Mmm... Antonio Banderas in those pants *nods grinning*
The Aristocrats (2006): I was disappointed with this doco. The doco was saying it wasn't the punch line itself which is funny, it's the journey and the outrageousness of the journey which makes the joke funny. I thought it was just crass and disgusting, and yes it usually takes a bit for me to say that. But only if you enjoy jokes about blood, crap, bestiality and incest, you'd probably find it funny. Admittedly, there were moments of laughter but they were few and far between.

Prunes it is for the Christmas pudding, I just bought a large bag of it yesterday and will try some later, and see if it's really as nice as you guys say. Hmmm... still, reminds me of laxatives...

Greetings to all those people who read this blog.

I know I may not know all of you, I suspect you don't know me either. And now that you are reading these words right now, yes right now. It's creepy, I don't know you, you don't know me, it's creepy. Lurkers scare me, especially when they find out information, too much information about people you have never even met (or have met). So it may seem harsh, I don't read personal blogs of people whom I haven't known for at least 5 years, and also been on holidays with, and I'd rather people not read mine. I'm asking people to respect this, yes it is the internet, yes it is free, yes I can't track you, but go read someone else's blog who is actually asking for the attention, 'cause I certainly am not.

Anyways back to the people I know:
Rebecca's out of Concord Hospital now and back at home, Thank God. Was her birthday today (13/10), at least she got to spend tonight at home :) It sounded a bit like Diabetes Insipidus. I'll ask her the results on Monday, hope they've diagnosed her properly and found the right course of action.

So today Shell and I spent a 3.5 hours at Parra Westfield. We didn't go to the gym coz I'm not feeling very well. (I'm not entirely sure what it is, I suspect it's to do with the sudden climate change, but upper part of throat is extremely dry, runny nose, no phlegm at all. So I've been taking Paracetamol for its anti-inflammatory effects and been getting headaches frequently. Suspect dehydration. It's not DMII for sure).
So yea got Josh's presents after a good 2.5 hours of frustration. (Also had Eggs Benedict [first time!] and Chai latte tea [I'd rather real chai from an Indian family or at least restaurant]). Then ingredient shopping.

So over to Josh's for birthday bbq. Thank you Josh I had a great time, hope you use your presents well! Glad it was a wise gift decision, Shell and I were walking up and down trying to find one, and lo and behold, it was in front of us the entire time. I'm thinking of purchasing one for myself, ooooo yea...
A casual dinner, I made pasta salad (if anyone wants some, feel free, although it may be eaten in... hmm... gimme 2.5 days, or Leach 45min), and a little roast potatoes with pesto left. Shell made her delicious Caesar salad, mmmm... yummy...
Drank some wine, very easy to drink that one, 2002 Shiraz I don't remember the winery though ;) It had a bit of a kick to it in the first sip, then it mellowed out after you swallowed it so it left a nice sweet feel in your mouth. ;)
Chatted muchly, gave massages and nearly sent Shell off to sleep, interesting topics, got to see Phil in his boxers.
And then back round 0120. Kinda tired, right now it's 0245. May pop to bed now. After I favourite these ff addresses.

Oh yes, dates and prunes are 2 all right now. Anyone who hasn't voted, please do and comment.
Dates: Leach and I
Prunes: Cat and Alex

My dinner

Very proud of this, I better be coz I can feel the chilli burning my left fingers.

Pimientos rellenos (stuffed capscium). Has bird's eye chilli (for heat), rice, chorizo, tomato, onion, garlic, no parsley at home :( tasty!

For people who haven't voted on the Christmas pud poll, please do and tell me who you are. Especially if I'm making a Christmas pud that you may eat sometime.

Fwoar!! Bellydancing sooo much fun!

Had a great class tonight! Learnt the basics, generally moving hips, hip flicks, the Maya? (I think it was), figure of 8s, shimmying, belly pops, belly rolls and some arm movements. Picked it up pretty quickly, quite similar to hip movements in Latin dance but of course less footwork. Actually gave a good workout to the lower back muscles, could really feel whilst belly rolls (which I did successfully the first go! Yays!!)

Will practice at home coz one of the songs used was Loreena McKennitt's Marco Polo. (funnily enough I always used that song for pseudo-bellydancing)
I really hope they put it on permanently at Liverpool, soo much fun! Will be bringing coin belt next time :D

So we had dinner out at Davo's Trattoria tonight (B, Mish, Shell and Bronny). Had bruschetta as entree. I had a chinotto to drink and small fettucine all gamberetti and affogato (which was surprisingly sweet for an espresso...). Others had chicken pennes, ravioli, fettucine boscaiola and cokes, pineapple juice, diet cokes around. Oh yes and for dessert lovers, a scrumptious looking Rocky road, tiramisu, trio gelato and caramel latte. I was looking forward to my little portion of mooncake but I'm so bloated right now... it's painful to press against my gut.

Then back to my house for Little Britain 3. Talked quite a bit, many different topics, marriage, parents, kids, discipline, clothing, attraction, lust etc.

Mind you it was pretty early in the morning when we were having these chats, B was saying what kinda man she thinks Mish will hook up with, either a manly man, a womanly man, a man with the exact personality as hers. I said B needs a man to protect her, a manly man, not a pushover. And B said I needed to be "tamed" before I could ever settle, lol, as in I like doing my own thing, running around, doing whatever I want.LOL I didn't say that you guys thought/think "If Pun ever falls in love, she'll fall hard and fall fast" Hasn't happened yet.
After talking, I'm really starting to believe that I have a gift of singleness.
It's very interesting how other people perceive attraction. I've just never (honest to God) found anyone attractive in terms of "Oh you're pretty, let's go out sometime". I've found them "You have nice cheekbones as in you're a beautiful guy" but I've never had the urge to take it to the next level. Sure I've had a fondness for people but what IS attraction? No seriously, I don't know WHAT it is, what is THE attraction? What makes you gravitate towards a person? And does this attraction lead to romance? Does it HAVE to lead to romance?

BTW pick your answer on the sidebar. Dried pineapple and mangoes wasn't that sweet I remember, last year's had a definite kinda seedy crunchiness to it coz of the figs, but I want a sweeter kinda taste to the pudding. I'm still experimenting before I settle on one recipe. Mind you this may take years since it depends on the type of fruit, quality, organic/not organic, varying amounts of liqueur.

Recent purchases:
- 2 bras - balconette, take advantage of sales
- 4 tops - as above, take advantage of sales
- Little Britain 3 - YAYS!!

Belly dancing on Friday

Niiiiiice, there's a trial class running on Friday night, soooo looking forward to it. Yes, will show Trees some moves coz she sooo wants to see them yes?? And finally, I can make some use out of the coin belt which has been sitting forlornly in my cupboard for 3 years.
I seriously need to see someone for this stupid (L) knee. Cracks muchly. Getting somewhat worried. Suspect cartilage issue, more so lack of cartilage issue.

In other random wiki searching, my ancestors (as in waaaay, waaay back) are from Inner Mongolia. By tracing our surname Pan (in Mandarin) so we migrated to Guangdong province at the very least 500 years ago (I think it was) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_surname
Kwong is from the Guangdong province ;) But unfortunately since I don't read Chinese or know you ladies' surnames in character, I didn't get the province your ancestors were from. I couldn't find Au, Tse, Tong or even Croaker!!

GOOD FOOD MONTH!!
