Cat's 21st & Kat's engagement (plus state election) (edit)

Well I don't think there was any secret to which party I voted for, although I did vote for the Greens as second. Iemma in power again, I swear, if they bring in the IR laws anyway... would not be happy.

So Cat's 21st was great, much mulling about, a surprise guest of Wong! Most ladies in dresses, some people dressed up more than others. Good speeches, good company, goooooood food. Mmmm... food... chocolate cake, crackers and dip, various antipasti and rocket sandwiches, ham chesse and tomato croissants, very hot during the day though, then it cooled down when the storm came over the island. some twirling, some dancing, some slow dancing... Photos are up.

Then Leach dumped us for Alex's ride instead :P And I completely understand it ;) And we headed to Kat & David's engagment party. Also much food, much much much food. Mmmm food.. wish I coulda nicked some home. Looove pumpkin risotto, shame I couldn't eat mooooore, loved the peaches, and dip!! Luuurve the dip!! Good speeches, good slaughtering of the pig, nice try at throwing grapes down my pjs :P

Must sleep now, so tired. Have to wake up extra early for church tomorrow morning, and work as well. Gaah...
Remember to turn back your clocks ladies, yays for on hour extra sleep!!

EDIT
So some of the church gals and I went to Hotel Saravana Bhavan for dinner on Tuesday night (photos up). Oooh I loooove Indian food. Don't have the coconut juice there though, they really dilute it down. So we had:
- chicken tikka masala
- butter chicken
- vegetable kurma
- lamb rogan josh
- 2 tandoori roti
- family masala dosai
- cheeese naan
- pappadams
and 3 of us had masala chais. Mmm... then gelati afterwards at Burwood, I had a hot chocolate instead :) BTW, I think I may need to cancel Indian on the 7th, will confirm by Saturday.

To whom it may concern:

ALICIA ETRAN TONG!! IF YOU SAY TO ANDREW THAT READING MY BLOG IS DAMN AMUSING, I SWEAR WOMAN, I SWEEEEAAAARS...... *hides away ALL CHOCOLATE*

Greetings to Andrew and Shell Bell if you are reading this. Stop reading now! I said now! Press this link is much more interesting.

And you peeps who I know are reading (looking at) my blog without commenting, shame on you. I'm looking at you, Lena & Kat. ;)
You know, I've been craving a lot of sweet foods recently, cake, chocolate, coke (I know, for shame *slaps own self*), for some reason I'm craving sweet foods. It's never happened before, even during... you know *nudge nudge*, maybe my body's seeing sugar as a quick spurt of energy during work and such. I shudder at the thought that I've consumed 1.2L of coke this week, 2 of those tall bottles, it's strange how much you see retrospectively. I'm tired, gonna need to shower soon and eat this Cadbury creme egg... mmm... Cadbury creme egg. Gotta go get Wong's birthday present before I send off the chocolates next Monday maybe. And buy the same amount of Violet Crumbles for Leachypoo. ;)
Well Phil's party was very good, I helped out a bit in buying stuff, setting up some stuff, encouraging the birthday guy. Very tired by the time I got home. Basically dropped into bed and slept past my alarm and came late for church (woke up at 0850, church starts at 0907, although I daresay, I did pretty well to come 5 minutes late).

I had dinner, haven't eaten such a large plate of food for many, many weeks. We had: dolmades with tzatziki, spanakopita, green beans in tomato, antipasti pasta salad, pastitsio, roasted capsicum (love it!), roast legs of lamb with lemon, rosemary and garlic, chicken skewers in the same, Lebanese bread and more but I can't recall at this moment in time.

Dessert was jelly, watermelon, rockmelon, honeydew, grapes, passionfruit, chocolate covered strawberries and birthday cake! Of vanilla sponge yummy!! I brought a large corner of the 60 serve cake home. Hehehe, gonna have lots of cups of tea to knock the cake down for afternoon tea.
Much present opening, much photo posing, much girlfriend duties. ;)
So left at around 0210 this morning and sleep by 0235. Photos are up for those who are bothered.

Had lunch with the Morrins today after church, got to take some food so I don't have to cook this week for late shifts. Quite annoyed now, I had my Mondays morning shift changed to late shift, I'm missing out on YABS because of another new grad (who needs a LOT of support and education), it's never a good thing when the geriatrician says "Don't. Let. Him. Touch. My. Patients." So now I've been moved to late shift, it's ridiculous! How 'bout my support and training???!!! Grrrrrr!!! I hate missing out on YABS, hate it! I look forward to Bible Study every week but now... stupid incompetent new grad...

In other news I got my baby back, baby back, baby back. I got my baby back, baby back, baby back. The Audi has returned to its mama. $20 some prick will scratch it when I park at LPL.

Apparently my clothes look like they're falling off me, hmmm. I'm going clothes shopping on Saturday 31st with Shell Bell. And Indian food with PLC ladies at Croydon on Easter Saturday.

'La Traviata' on Saturday

Well in the end, we went on a double date with Trees and Cameron. Ooooooh so she isn't frigid!!
Sorry if it felt awkward for you and Cameron, Trees. Phil and I, well *shrugs grinningly*

I enjoyed the opera (the parts I heard and paid attention to, mind you it was most of it). 'La Traviata' is about a Parisian courtesan who falls in love with a man, she's dying of TB, she dies eventually in the arms of the man she loves. If curious, follow the plotline of Moulin Rouge.

So we bought a cheese, herb and garlic pullapart from Bakers' Delight. I brought some watermelon and nuts. Trees bought cupcakes and OJ. And I brought blue jelly for Phil and I.

It was getting chilly over the night, even though I kept asking Phil whether he was cold, he just kept his arms around me. lol. Then I insisted on him wearing his jacket and I put my shawl on (the lovely red one from Leachypoo). I know this will sound sappy and you guys will feel nauseous but I love being wrapped in Phil's arms, it's so nice, and warm, and loving. :D

I got some good pics of Trees and Cameron but dammmmmn you lady, you deleted it!

Work wasn't too bad last week, I'm definitely settling into the structure and workload. I still have the train up the TENs under me though. I really, really hate repeating myself for simple things, and sadly I'm not the only one training them up. Arghh... I'll be working late shift til Thursday so I gotta find something for dinner this week. I'm gonna take away some seafood chow mien from the shop up the road, and drop off the ironing at the laundromat. $20 per 15 items, I'm so not bothered doing the ironing, hell yea I've give you $20.

Phil's bday tomorrow, gonna spend the morning with him before work *sighs*

'Hot Fuzz' ****
Very funny, a lot of cameos from the Brit comedians. About a super, overly competent metropolitan cop being transferred out to the country and experiencing the village policing lifestyle. But of course, suspicions and menace lie in the air in this quaint little village... very very funny. I like how they make fun of cliches and it's kinda gruesome on some parts. Definitely recommended! Even better if you have a cop next to you to make jibes at ;)

Recent purchases:
- costume for Cat's 21st - dress, shoes etc.
- a few headbands to keep my fringe out of the way

I broke my glasses

Thank God I have a spare pair. I think I need to call up my parents and get them to send a pair of transition lens over to Sydney, they're cheaper in HK. Hmmm... but that means they'll have to pick the frame... eeep.

Lunasa on Thursday night:
So after getting lost with Shell, yikes, must look at street directory before ever going anywhere I've never been before. I really really dislike getting lost, especially when I'm still driving the smash repair's car (Audi's still sick).
So Lunasa was good, Irish jigs and reels, played some of the songs from their old albums but most of the night's came from their new album 'Sé' (shay). I wish I knew how to dance jigs and reels otherwise I would've up at the front dancing. Also helps if I wasn't wearing a new denim skirt, black sheer thigh highs and knee high boots, kinda felt like a slag the whole night. So we got to sit at one of the tables at the back (I get restless sitting down, and I'm short so I don't fancy 20 heads in front of me). So we didn't get any dinner, I had a lemon, lime & bitters whilst Shell had a Midori & lemonade, and we shared a packet of chips.
Happy 22nd birthday Shelly! (if you're reading this)

Date with Phil:
Went great. Heehee. Went to La Renaissance for lunch, and walked down to Town Hall looking for a wallet for his birthday. Found one, bought it. Gonna use it starting Tuesday 13th :D

Vero's surprise birthday party:
Had to rush back from the city, had one hour to get ready which was good. I ended up curling my hair a little, it's all straight now anyway. Had a Spanish fiesta theme, much decorations, much decapitating of her pinata unicorn. Had empanadas, Swedish meatballs, taco chips, wedges, olives, cheese, non-alcoholic sangria, chorizo, chicken, beef, pork, cake, jelly, fruit salad and lots more. So we have supper tomorrow night which is great. Learnt some Casino style salsa from Vero's uncle. Taught Phil a little (heehee, he hasn't danced for years and he's willing to learn, I love it!!! Heehee!) I'd love to start dancing again, latin music just heats up the blood, it's just great to move to, and dare I say it, you can feel the rhythm.

Had to rush to Westfield Friday morning and bought clothes. I've dropped a butt size for sure. Now a size 12 bottom and somewhere between a 14 and 16 top. Still a 16C! *phew*

Recent purchases:
- 2 dresses from TOL
- 2 tank tops
- 3 pairs of panties
- 2 pairs of jeans - need to be shortened a little. Will take to the alterations on Monday.

CAT/KAT:
SEND OUT INVITATIONS NOW DUDES. AND IF YOU HAVEN'T PUT A WISHLIST UP YET, PUT ONE UP.

TREES:
DO YOU HAVE YOUR TWO TIX FOR 'LA TRAVIATA' FOR SATURDAY MARCH 10TH? COZ I'VE GOT TWO AND I TOLD PHIL THAT HE'S NOT INVITED (So he doesn't need to say 'no' anyway) :D
