Night shifts suck. They truly do.

Let's see, out of working 4 nights a week, 2 of those nights had MET calls. Gaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Why? Why? Why? And being put in charge!! Gaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!! So damn illegal, so illegal!
Night shifts are a lot busier than I thought it would be, on Thursday night, I had a medication or duty to perform every hour, so really I didn't get to sit down at all. I had 1/2 a cup of coffee at around 0230, then the rest of that cup of cold coffee at 0730. Gaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

So had Phil's graduation on Thursday morning, rushed up to Parra, as fast as I could considering the traffic was bumper to bumper. Made it there 10 minutes before the ceremony started. Had lunch with the 'rentals and Phil and I had to get sleep for night shifts again. 6 hours sleep (+ an interruption of a phone call). Gaaahhhh... I was so confused during nights, I was giving handover in the morning and I didn't know whether it was Wednesday or still Tuesday. Gaaaaahhhhh...

So went to see 'Reign Over Me' and 'Shooter' at the Drive-ins on Friday. 'Reign Over Me' is slightly depressing, very dramatic, some amusing bits, a chance for Adam Sandler to show off his dramatic skills. 'Shooter' was good also, surprisingly, not bad.

Tonight I took Phil out for dinner at The Little Snail, and he tried 2 snails! And he had Duck A l'orange, both first times!! So proud! I of course had my usual snails, Duck A l'orange and Sticky date pudding, which I was so full from. And a Cranberrito for me, and Lemon Squashes for Phil. :) Mmmm... cranberrito...

2 more weeks left of ACU! w00t!

Sorry Leach, Phil sends his apologies. He won't be able to make it to your party, he's got his cousin's 21st to go to (which I'm invited to as well, but I'm sending my apologies as well).

"You've never tried banana cake??"

Amazing... okay I understand, Janene (Phil's mum) has an adversion to bananas so that's why he tried some of mine today. And imho, it's bleeding delicious, out of the oven not long in the morning. Moist in the middle, subtle scent of cinnamon, lovely banana warm smell, not too creamy frosting with walnuts, mmmmm... I have more than half left if anyone wants some. Really very very nice, my best one ever. Mmmm... I feel like some more now.
Courtesy of Stephanie Alexander's 'A cook's companion' Simple banana cake, with my addition of marscapone, vanilla and walnut frosting.

I have great news, I'll be going to Coronary Care Unit and Cardiac Catheter Lab for my 2nd and 3rd rotations respectively. Yays!!! I'm glad they gave me 2 out of 3 of my preferences. :D
I really have to brush up on my ECGs, gotta find a decent ECG book. I knew I should've bought it back in uni.

For Phil's graduation, well it seems we're both working on the day. Except he starts work at 1830 and I start at 2130, and I finish later. But no matter, it still means that we both have to have an early lunch on Wednesday, then home to sleep before the shifts start. I'm sure Janene and Keith will have to poke me to stay awake during the ceremony. Arghh... and how in the world am I gonna get to Phil's house during peak hour, take a shower, then head up with his parents to Parra on time. I'd be lucky to have 10 minutes before we have to leave. It's insane, it's peak hour, we won't make it on time unless we disapparate. I'll have to bring my micro towel with me to dry my hair in the car, and possibly use as a pillow. And I can't use the staff shower coz it has 2 mattresses and a whole load of linen in it. It's a damn staff shower, not a storeroom!

In other news, gonna be pants and skirts shopping today (19/4), my favourite skirt is now to big for me... :( I really like that on dammit, I'd put my weight back on just to fit back in it, maybe.

Got a little trim on Sunday after work, the head massage not so good, would rather have decent hair wash with scalp massage than massage chair. Hair's a little shorter now, barely any difference. Hairdresser also stated I SERIOUSLY NEED to recolour my hair, but I want it black again, recolouring is so expensive and needs to be done so often with black hair.

Sorry Leach and Viv, I'm gonna have to RSVP after April 30th for your birthdays, same for Phil. Rosters aren't out til that week for me, and the week after for Phil I believe.

Viv: I have some 100% emulsifying ointment at home. The pharmacist I went to refused to mix it to 50% for me. Any ideas on how to mix it to 50% without the formula breaking down? Yes I have very dry skin.

EDIT:
Recent purchases:
- 4 pairs of pants
- 3 long sleeved tops
- 1 strapless dress
- Phil's graduation present

Don't let me drive you guys anywhere, in fact keep me off the roads

I bumped my car again, my fault again. I wasn't looking clearly, hit the left bumper of my car onto this huge semi-trailer. Was trying to turn into the left lane off Kissing Point rd. Turned too quickly. Now my bumper is slightly damaged. I'm completely fine, mentally going nuts coz I just got the car fixed not long ago. Gaaaaaahhhhh, keep me off the streets I'm telling you! I've only been driving for 4 and 1/2 months, just kick me off!!!

Bonnie Raitt concert

Yes yes this time I dogged Cat to go see a concert with Phil. I know I know. At least you got to have escargots with Ron Weasley ;)
Bonnie Raitt is an American country and blues singer, very famous in the states, more famous with the older generation of Aussies, and whom are interested in country and blues. I was very worried that Phil would be bored out of his mind *shrugs* but he listens to Simon and Garfunkel so I reckon I'm safe. I love listening to that kinda bluesy music, great for dancing, shame we didn't :( And she sung my favourite song in the encore (yays!) "I can't make you love me" (quite a depressing song, about a couple, the husband has fallen out of love with his wife, and the wife is singing, "just give me this night to let you go" to give up trying to make him love her. Very sad :( for some reason my favourite songs are all quite depressing...).
Anyways that was at Revesby Workers' Club, I know I know.

So Happy belated Easter everyone! Hope you had a good holiday, tonight's my last night of my longed-for 4 day weekend. Wooot! Really don't wanna go back tomorrow morning, but I have to dammit.
Had a roast lunch with the Morrins on Sunday, very nice, mentioned my change of plans for the future. I really have to stop releasing information about myself, it's dangerous very dangerous.

Bean's Holiday **1/2
For the people who've watched Mr. Bean growing up, another one of those movies, some people will hate it, some people will enjoy it, some people won't even consider seeing it. Cringeworthy in some moments (as it is Mr. Bean), and wildly unlikely, but it's a movie for all ages.

Lunch with Cat today, ugh wagamama, Jap food for westerners, ugh. Then went shopping in Kinokuniya and Abbeys and sat around Darling Harbour watching little kids play bumper paddleboats. Then back up to the Tea Room, Traditional arvo tea now bumped up to $30, now with lounge chairs and little coffee tables in the middle of the room, with the side tables and brown chairs still in its usual spots. Mmm... Assam tea is goooood, they now serve the tea in silver pots and much nicer tea sets rather than just plain white. Egg sandwiches, ham and mustard sandwiches (which I got to eat all of), raspberry profiteroles, chocolate brownie, sultana crumble cake, passionfruit cream sandwichy thing, strawberry tart, cheese and spinach pastry and of course a big fat scone with cream and jam. Mmmm... sooo full right now. Then a little shopping in Crabtree and Evelyn. Mmmm... I smell like *sniff* winter birch, *sniff* milk & honey, *sniff* olive, almond and myrtle.

We have find a time to go Yum Cha together, Phil has never been to (nor heard of Yum Cha... I know, I know...). He's making a great effort though, he's had mango, broccoli, gelati, strawberries, dolmades, tomatoes, ratatouille, fish since we started dating. Lift up your jaws ladies, no hanging to the ground.

By the way, my roster (to be amended apparently MY BUTT) sucks crap next month, if it remains the same, I get to go to Bible Study twice, I get to go to morning church, I miss out on girlfriend duty (Phil wanted me to go to his mate's 21st), BUT I MISS OUT PHIL'S GRADUATION!!! I'm gonna be put on night shift, you bastards!! 2130 to 0730, that means I'd have to drive over the Parra campus, stay awake for at least 6 more hours, then head home, shower, crash, and wake up at 2030, have dinner and head to work. Bastards! I might take sick leave that Wednesday night, go to Phil's graduation Thursday morning, then work on Thursday night. They better bloody amend this roster.

Recent purchases:
- SMH Good Living Summer and Autumn cookbooks
- 100 great risottos - Valentina Harris - mmmm... can't wait to use it
- The Penguin Book of Etiquette - Marion von Alderstein
- C&E skin care - day cream - I hope it works, such dry face I have...
- C&E Botanical shower mousse - olive, almond and myrtle - mmm nice

Feet soooo sore

So today B, Shell and I went crazy crazy crazy shopping in the city, cwwwwazy!! Day started at 0830 so I could go to the Farmers' Market to pick up some dinner for this week. Got some fresh maccheroni, gnocchi and white sauce. Mmmm... I look forward to it. :)

Then I went and picked both of the gals up, and drove over the Croydon and train-ed it into the city. Went to QVB first, saw the Bald Archy Prize (alternative to Archibald). Went shopping, had lunch, consumed some watermelon juice, went shopping again, had a bit of a snack and B and Shell headed home.

So then, met up with Leach, bought a dozen sushi rolls (fully cooked thank you) and headed off towards SOH.

Waited a bit, dined on sushi rolls and juice. Viv joined us, then came Dave and Kat and Trees and Cameron. Moved over to watch the lights turn off the sails, and off the harbour bridge and the pylons. Damn frightening for the Bridgeclimbers I'm sure. But they should have been aware of the lights going off ;) Photos are up on My photos.

Then headed back to Croydon via Dave and Kat (thanks Dave for driving us! :D) and detours to Leach's, Viv's and Shell's to pick up my shopping bags :)

Recent purchases:
- 2 bras and 1 pair of panties
- 2 jumpers
- 4 tops
- 4 bars of 100g Lindt choccies - 55% and 75%
- a whole load of Crabtree & Evelyn products - mmm... Nadira is lovely, more Lily of the Valley soap, some La Source hand recovery therapy and various birthday presents
- Dylan Moran Monster DVD
- A Lil' bit of Fry and Laurie DVD - as recommended by Angi ;)
- Yan Kit's Classic Chinese cookbook
- Heart - Bad Animals CD

Had an optemetry appointment the other day, right eye slightly worse, it's catching up to the condition of my left eye. Hmmm... chose a new frame and now waiting for the tranistion lenses to be put in, then I have to head up to Carlingford and pick it up. *sighs*
