Another week gone by...

And still feeling like crap, I called up LPL Hospital and I'm taking the afternoon off tomorrow. I figure with me continously sneezing, yellow snot and phlegm. Yeaa... no I'm not going to work.
A couple of sleepless nights and packets of Codral Day and Night and Strepsils later, it's still pretty sucky. Ah well.

Viv's 21st party was last night, photos are up on My photos. :)

Had lunch with B today after church, we're both sick bunnies, I had pumpkin soup and garlic bread, B had Chicken Caesar salad, and shared wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce. I had an impromptu hot lemon tea. Couldn't taste anything. Anything at all. Gahhhh...
Shell's coming over tonight for dinner and MacBeth while other peeps are watching POTC. Hope I don't give her the flu.

Recent purchases:
- 1 Polartec jacket - soooo warm, worth every dollar
- 3 polypropylene thermal underwear pieces
- 1 pair of black mitts
- 1 pair of black booties
- Extras series 2 DVD

CCU started

My goodness, so overwhelming... there's so much information to be learnt about being in CCU. They encourage nurses to do the cannulation course for one (which I won't be doing), the acute side of nursing, I've learnt (still learning) on how to interpret dangerous heart rhythms, what to do in those heart rhythms (as in to shock, do CPR, or administer adrenaline, or mix of two), it's awfully scary.

But the good thing is that I've been on the ward before as a student, so I know a little bit about it already. But I'm missing so much more. Pray I don't kill anyone please, and that I know what to do in my position, and pray I'll protect my patients.

So went to the Mean Fiddler on Friday night with Phil and his policing mates. I need to teach Phil how to dance!! He refuses to unless someone teaches him, HELP!!!!!!!

And of course Leach's 21st on Saturday, *hugs* where Wong and I did the speech (yikes) yes I know Jams has lost all respect for us now. Yes I know... photos are up on My photos.

Need to buy:
- one pair of Uggboots
- black casual bag - this one's falling apart, why is it so hard to find a decent one?
- Koorong shopping tomorrow!!! Yays!

WOOOOOHOOOOO I'M OUTTA AGED CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank the Lord! I was having such a crap 2 weeks I'm so glad I don't have to go back next Monday.
All in all, ACU wasn't as bad as first thought. The bullying is still bad, and the backstabbing but all in all, you have to be tough and not take any crap to be a nurse so... "I survived Aged Care and lived to tell about it." I need to get a T-shirt that says that.

Went to Rhinedorf to celebrate, took Phil along with us :)

Tasting platter to share, and garlic bread for Phil (found out he doesn't eat cold cuts).
Berliner Eisbein (boiled pork knuckle with taters and sauerkraut)and Dom Koelsch for Dad
Schweinehaxen (roast pork kuckle with taters)and Schoeffenhofer for bro
Haehnchenschnitzel (chicken schnitzel, taters and salad)and cokes for Phil
and I had a Barossa (huge steak with salty mushroom sauce and roesti)and Koestritzer, mmm... rare steak... yummy...

And I've also had a craving for my infamous steamed treacle pudding and butterscotch sauce for the past 2 weeks. Oooh baby, sooo good... need more, it takes over 2 hours to make and I can demolish it in 30min. Dad had 2 slices before he left to go play Mahjong and he's gonna have some more when he gets home tonight. Mmmm... treacle pudding *bite!* mmm...

Steve's 21st tonight so Phil'll pick me up at 1800. Gotta finish off the pudding and get ready. Mmmm... pudding... and a second one's on the stove so I can take it to the Morrin's tomorrow for lunch. Cheerio!

Food filled weekend

So had a somewhat busy day yesterday, up to the gym for boxing class with Shell, then onto Parra for grocery shopping and a bottle of Moet & Chandon for Josh. Also had Malay for lunch (finally), I loooove Hainan chicken and Belacan okra (I don't know what okra is in Malay), mmmm... and coconut juice... mmm...

Then Phil picked me up in the pm and we headed to Dolcissimo for Josh's graduation dinner. Good food, really good and tasty. I had chicken and mushroom risotto, Phil had Margherita pizza, and various other dishes around the table. And bruschetta al pomodoro, Phil ate tomato (so proud)! Achem anyways.

LINDT CHOCOLATE WAREHOUSE SALE
Well well, after calling Leach in the pm on Thursday, she came and picked me up round 7 this am, had some brioche and tea for brekky and headed out to Eastern Creek.

It's funny, in a warehouse sale waiting to go in for clothes example, people are grumpy and rude and moody, but in a chocolate warehouse sale, people are happy and cheerful and chatty, it's great! :D So I spent $140 and Leach $100. w00t!! Yea baby, all that chocolate, I'm giving away a good amount of it, I'm taking some to work and it'll disappear within 2 shifts. I'm keeping the single origin chocolates, and there's a COGNAC filled one! And a Milk chocolate and coconut!! And Stracciatella (white chocolate with choc chip).

And then to Granville for chicken shish kebabs, pickles, rice, pickled cabbage and leb bread, mmm... and garlic sauce and hommous. Mmm...
Photos up on My photos.
