I wanna go to Burwood today...

Or at least somewhere with an ABC shop. I really wanna get that Rick Stein pudding book dammit. Hmm... somehow manipulate my dad into taking me today, yays for Thursday late night shopping!

I'm supposed to apply for the Nurse Consortium today so I can get a job next year. But it's not open yet, today is the 30th right? meh, I'll check again tonight.

Oh yes, I gotta bid tonight on (no not DPDO, that's on Sunday) Colin Falconer's The Sultan's Harem. Annoyingly not in publication in Australia, yet republished in the US *growls*. So, hope I get it *crosses fingers*

New song up, I warn you, my music collection isn't that new. ;) And knowing my music tastes... ah no worries, I'm not gonna put any folk or celtic or country, unless it's a very obvious country song, which only one person would (should) know really.

Woke up at 1400... I love the hols :)

New song up ladies ;) Something a tad easier this time *rolls eyes*

I hope everyone who had exams today went well. People procrastinating, shame on you! :D Stop reading this and go write... stuff.

Yays, I now have the following installed on my computer:
- Adobe Professional 7
- Microsoft Office
- Realplayer
- Winamp
- Windows Media Player
- my printer/scanner
And I'm also slowly loading my mp3s back onto my computer, which will take at least 20 minutes.

Also now contemplating getting DPDO 2CD (Vienna 1989) instead of Highlights from DPDO (Hamburg cast). *ponder ponder* Although reviews for the Hamburg cast are better than the Vienna cast. And listening to the .rms on amazon.de, I realised the slithery, creepy voice which I thought was from the movie, is in fact from the Vienna cast. Nevertheless, still pondering.

Actually you guys can help me decide,
- DPDO 2CD (1989) - not as good reviews, sleazy sounding Phantom, easier to bid
- DPDO Highlights (Hamburg cast)- better reviews, but imho Phantom sounds pompous but not sleazy, kinda sings like Piangi, more people want to buy this (harder to bid)

*decisons, decisions*

Anyways, gonna have dinner tonight with church gals, see if I need to bring a drink. Non-alcoholic. Oh yea Vintage Cellars are having their 20% off for a doz or more bottles of wine, til 14th July. Hehe, I'm a member. I gotta go buy some more Annabella Sangiovese 2002. If you like Verdelho, you'll love Sangiovese, it's a red version of Verdelho, very light and quite sweet *yum*

Books, books and frustratingly empty computers.

Next song is up, I think I'm sorta on a theme ;)
Look on sidebar for details :)

Didn't do much today, oh did wake up around 1200. Got up, made a cuppa tea, my aunty came 'round to help clean the house. Very nicely helped me dust the bookshelf and also made me reorganise it. *sigh* Have removed around 30 books to boxes in the garage. However, now have a nicely stacked and dusted and rearranged bookshelf. :) Still, must get proper library when we move out. Strangely though, I'm looking forward to getting all my books out, re-sorting them into categories and alphabetical order and stacking them back...

Also realised I currently do not have:
- Adobe
- Microsoft Word (Office)
- Realplayer
- Java

Really need Word up, the closest I have is Notepad and I'm getting very depressed looking at Courier New font. *sigh*

And sorry about the x marked boxes where my photos should be, I kinda deleted it from my photobucket (not that accidently). This is why I really need Word, only program I used to have that could knock an image down to 50kb.

*sigh*

Annoying how you wanna do do something, just when the equipment/program becomes unavailable. I feel like writing, just not on Notepad. I'm gonna rename this blog "The Wild Adventures of Pun's silly laptop: and the minor frustrations of Pun"

Oh and Boston Legal starts in 4 minutes, for lovers of James Spader ;D or sleazily, charming bastards. ;P

All exams finished! *yays* for this semester anyway.

Well, upon discussion with other people, I have definitely answered some questions wrong, yet I have also have many questions right *sigh* Oooh I can change fonts... ok.

Also had dinner with a uni friend at Habib's in Bankstown. Surprisingly good, you get spit roasted chicken, wonderful garlic sauce, basket of Leb bread, marinated gherkins and turnips as a side dish of veg. Very good, and very tasty. And fresh and cheap, dinner costed me $10 (including drink). Very full, well considering it was half a roast chicken, flattened out like a pancake mind you. I may have to pull you guys along in the hols. ;)

Well, my computer got fixed! My brother's friend came over to fix his computer and also fixed mine. So now I have 15.something GB of memory left (instead of the previous 6.04GB) and Windows XP. Which means I need to download Adobe 7.0. However, all of My Documents are on my bro's computer which is my backup, eep, what's his backup?? And apparently I had a crapful of viruses on my computer before he reformatted it. I apologise to anyone if I gave them a virus. Unlikely 'cept Trees, but that was on my old computer ;P

Guess what! I downloaded the libretto in German, now I can sing to my little heart's delight! :D
I'm still trying to understand how to sing the line "Phantom der Oper, du bist mir ganz nah" I think it's *clears throat* "Phaan-tooooom... der Oper, du-bist-mir-ganz-nah" I should really extend the note on "tom" so it really should be 'tom' with a plum in the mouth, as in 'o' in 'on'.

Maybe I should start up a 'guess the song' on my summary *ponder ponder*. Hmmm... okies, it would have to be from my mp3 collection. Ok. There should be prizes, should there not? No search engines though, coz that's cheating. Something easy first.

Exam tomorrow arvo, really should study...

And what am I doing posting?? *sigh* syphilis ain't that interesting while there's internet available. Also, I'm very tempted to chuck away all my brandied cherries after reading about botulism. Eep. Well, if I do eat my brandied cherries, then have abdominal cramps, nausea, vomitting, diarrhoea (all pretty characteristic of many food poisoning microorganisms). BUT, if I also get flaccid, symmetrical, descending motor paralysis and multiple cranial nerve palsies, feel very free to take me to Liverpool A&E, tell them I ate home preserved food and suspect foodborne botulism. Basically means very screwed and very much ICU living for the rest of my natural life.

In other news, my computer seems to be screwing up on me again. Windows is very, very slow on loading, as well as my ports aren't reading, all 4 of them. Which means my computer won't acknowledge my printer after 6 restarts. *sigh* will run out of patience when next semester starts.

Good news: have got meself a Paypal account, yays! Which means I can get the DPDO CD from Germany! :D Decided not to get the used one, I may as well get the new one eh? The only annoying factor is that the auction ends Sunday 3rd July at AEST 0526. Which means either, stay up or get up early... *sigh* Ah well, one must do what she can to get what she wants ;D

Anyway, very much looking forward to Friday, hope it doesn't rain though. Crap I haven't sms-ed Loz and Shilpa yet. And Karen and Vicky and other ladies. Someone remind me if they're Pun-chasing tomorrow night eh?

*Sigh* must study now, and get copious amounts of caffeine into mee system early tomorrow morn. Night ladies! And stalker(s).

P.S. Can anyone guess the new lyrics? Pretty easy have to say, although I can't sing one certain line, it just seems harder to get the syllables onto a note.
Kingdomality - your medieval vocational personality
http://www.cmi-lmi.com/kingdomality.html

'pparently I'm a shepherd. Dawww....

Your distinct personality, The Shepherd is to tend to your human flock. You understand the needs of those for whom you are responsible. Shepherds are vigilant and reliable. You realize your obligation and commitment to the well being of those entrusted to your care. Shepherds are very dependable. You engender a feeling of comfort and stability to those within your charge. On the positive side, Shepherds can be empathic, caring, understanding, practical and realistic. On the negative side, you may be manipulative, close-minded and sentimentally rigid. Interestingly, your preference is just as applicable in today's corporate kingdoms.

What are you?

I really should be studying... ay?

But it's 0030 and noone in their right mind would be studying at this time right? Unless they had an exam the next morning (Thank God no). Or unless they're writing up an essay ;P

Has anyone recognised the song in the light blue of the blog? I'll give people 3 go's. No googling, or other search engines. Actually it's pretty easy to recognise, I mean just reading it off, I think Von nun an gibt es kein zurueck's harder.

Hmm... I'm planning on re-sorting my bookshelf/hazardly put-together library in the hols. Does anyone want to borrow a book before they get ebayed off? I gotta sell my Sara Douglass' Hades' Daughter trade paperback, since I've got the small paperback. Me being anal retentive and all like to have all the same series, in the same height, same cover design etc. Damn my anal retentiveness.
Then again there's nothing I really want to sell, save my clothes, I mean, I've got too many that I don't wear, or maybe tis the cold weather getting to me and my cupboardful of spring clothing. *sighs*. Must set up a bank deposit account. Saves me $2.50 with money orders, then again, how much is it per transaction? Leaaaach, oh Leaaach.

So Ang? When do your exams end? I've got all my music set into folders so you gotta either come with your card or I come over, possibly Tues and after, IF you're free. So tell me and I'll drag this baby over. Always handy to have an extra driver around (Dad) and him being so protective and all of my "no-you-mustn't-go-by-yourself-it's-too-heavy-and-it-might-get-stolen" laptop. :)

Oh yes, was in Hornsby for optometrist appt before, went to the Borders there, bought 3 new books, Lost in Transmission, The Lost Letters of Aquitaine and The secrets of Jin-Shei. If anyone's read them, feel free to review, they're ma holiday light reading, well it'd be dropped as soon as HP comes in. Speaking about that Borders are having a...
Spend $75 or more in one go and buy HP and the HBP for only $15.

Only for those actually needing to spend $75 on books/CDs/DVDs in one go, would that be anywhere near worth it.
I think I'll wait for Kmart :)

Yes, well I decided to get a blog so as not to completely fill spampage

Also Stalkers come here. ;P

You know, it's surprisingly hard to find Das Phantom der Oper lyrics/libretto on the net. I mean I searched in English, I searched in German, I searched in German on yahoo.de and it's pretty damn hard.
Also I was ebaying and found I could get the DPDO Hamburg cast for, say less than A$20 p+h and everything. But I suspect it's used. And I emailed the guy saying (in German) Hi, sorry, I speak a little German, I live in Sydney blah blah, how much is the postage?. And he replied saying, roughly translated "You've got nothing to be sorry for, your German's very good!" Awwww... makes me want to buy a used CD even more. Problem is I need Paypal for it, and I gotta ask the owner of the credit card, Paypal being an American company and all, a tad worrying with the recent success of hackers.

I downloaded some DPDO songs, and Das Phantom der Oper sounds quite funny. Maybe it's the booming horror-like background electric keyboard and the rough '-ch' and definite consonant sounds in German? *shrugs* And maybe it's the guy who sings, but is it possible for him to sound creepier? I mean Michael Crawford *squeal* has such a lovely, soft, childlike voice, Gerard Butler: a much deeper even though he really does break several times in the song as well as distinctive struggling, Uwe Kroeger: sounds kinda, kinda sleazy. You'll know what I mean, I've got shivers going up my spine just listening to this.

Anyways.

Yes, I am up at this time coz I got up at like, 1350. Why you ask? Because I was waiting for these DPDO to download, we are GMT+10 and I suspect Germany's GMT+1.
