Tonight was lots of fun! Sorry I couldn't make it to your engagement Alex :(

But tonight was a huge amount of fun! Still, I really, really would've liked to make it to you and Alan's engagement *kow-towing* but we left at 1740 and I wouldn't have made it home :(
How was the engagement party though? I hope you like the presents!! :D

Okay, very last minute birthday present, I swear, have I ended up buying presents for all the recent ones? My bank account has severely decreased this summer...
Okay so for fashionistas and such, Mish's 21st was a 20s theme cruise, very nice at San Souci, we arrived early and saw a bunch of others go off on another cruise for a birthday. Oh yes fashionistas, I wore a black shortish dress, same as what I wore to Gershwin but black ;), black thigh high fishnets (with a suspender belt, yes much more wise, yes), a 4m strand of pearls, a black fascinator which I bought in Btown (more low key), gold bolero and my beloved black dancing shoes.
The birthday girl looked beautiful in a pink dress with a brownish fur. People went to a lotta effort for this, which was surprising, I mean some people went and hired costumes (including a BB gun), others searched their parents' wardrobes... and others bought suits! Meanwhile I did that too, but really buying dress that could be worn again, and baby I love those fishnets, I am so sticking to thigh highs now, full length are now going to be removed permanently from my wardrobe.
For foodies, there were roast potatoes, pumpkin, broccoli, carrots, gravy and roast beef and ham, Greek salad, garden salad and sliced tomatoes. And of course birthday cake which was a 3 layer sponge, cream and fruit. Unfortunately there was pear in it so I didn't have any :( Ah well, I guess that means I have to get a Mousse Van Gogh or something else instead for my bday. Also full tab so I had 2 G&Ts and of course, a very sweet Jacob's Creek 2004 Shiraz Mat Grenache and champers of course. So all in all, I feeel... happy ;)
So it was a cruise along Georges River and it was wonderful, night breeze was cool and it wasn't boiling hot nor very cool, it was very nice, got to chat a lot more and that was good, getting to know people more :) which I miss really.

Now I had so much fun tonight, I feel like organising a big 21st party... but I don't put much emphasis on 21sts, coz I don't find them very important to me personally. Decisions, decisions...

Billy Connolly was bleedin' hilarious!!

Worth every single cent of the ticket. He started around 2015 and went on non-stop til 2340 (it was supposed to finish at 2220). He is so bleedin' funny! I swear, my throat was sore when I came home and it was hard to breathe from laughing so much. He's made my decade, he has. :D :D

So, Viv, Karen and I went to The Amazing Human Body exhibit at the Superdome today. Got to see some dehydrated and plasticised human bodies, mostly male. It's interesting that when you look at an exhibit like that, you consider them as objects and not as people who used to have souls. Cause you know, they used to be alive. Interesting but I do wish they had more diseased organs and bodies, but then again I guess it wouldn't exactly be a whole healthy thing to do with an infectious cadaver around. But then again, most things die off once the host dies, well you know, except for the occasional bug.
I do think if Trees went, she would've lost her breakfast looking at the banners and posters hanging outside the door. Hehehe, and I thought the sliced human bits looked like pork chops ;) ;)

So I received my Style Manual, Postgrad Handbook and Unit outline and workbook for one of my subjects today. I was getting a bit worried coz tut reg for nursing was on Monday, and I didn't have any times to sign on, and nothing on webCT. So at least now there's some work to start looking through. I've a Honours Orientation Day on the 7th at Cumberland Hospital. Now I have to work out how to get there...

Also have to call up church people and see what's happening with the 21st present. Currently have no idea what's going on and if not, will be even more hectic than the last present. Meep!

Current noise background: zilch
Current craving: well I'm having a Corona right now and I did have lunch at 1630 so I'm not feeling very hungry.

We got tix for Billy Connolly!!!!

*jumps up and down*
I went onto the Ticketek site last night and the newsbanner said 'Limited tix for Billy Connolly - Sydney'. AHHHHHH!!!!!!! So my bro and I bought 2 tix straight away. Seating not as good as it could be but good enough. AHHHHH!!!! So we gotta collect them at the Venue Ticket Office an hour before the show starts.

So Lena's birthday dinner was at The Victoria Room yesterday. Very swish place ;) And very nice, but dark atmosphere. Yes, all the work and time on eyeshadow but nobody got to see it *shakes head in sorrow*. Also we got to see Alex's engagement ring!! *squeals*

Okay, okay, so for foodies' sake, here was the menu:
Entree: toasted Turkish bread with hummus, babaganoush, zaa'tar, chilli'n'crab dip, olive oil, beetroot dip.
Mains: grilled ocean trout on a bed of mushed peas, green beans with crushed almonds, roasted baby potatoes, grilled chicken with olives, preserved lemon and eschallots.
Dessert: Turkish sweets, nougat and chocolates: such as Turkish delight, baklava, choc truffles, lotsa nougat, Rocky Road, cinnamon rolled nuts.

And let's see, Angi you owe me $9 + however much you owe me for presents ;) Also for people not drinking, they had Apple Mojitos, I had a Depeche Mode, Jam had a Dry Martini *ugh* and Cat had a Sugar Daddy ;P
So I had a good time last night, 2 annoying things to point out really: 1. Do NOT use a bag that can't carry much, 2. Wear a garter belt with thighhigh stockings. Also, there's a hole, okay a big, big hole in one of the fishnet legs now so it's doooomed to fly to my bin. :(

Current background noise: The Little Mermaid, Sebastian - Kiss the Girl
Current craving: pulpy orange juice instead of the pulp free I have right now

Valentine's Day

Soo... if anyone wants to see a few photos, they're up on My photos.

Anyways, Cat, Viv and I went to La Renaissance for afternoon tea. There didn't seem to be as many cakes as there were before. Possibly because it was nearing 1600. So Viv and Cat had cappuccinos and each a Mousse Picasso?? and apple cake respectively. I had an iced tea and creme brulee. Mmm... also bought a Mousse Van Gogh cake for dessert at the moonlight.

So we walked about a bit and took the 380 to Oxford St. Went and bought a bottle of sparkling wine, a Portugese chicken, and a gigantic dolmade for myself. Met up with Kat just before heading into the park.
Saw Trees coming out from amongst the Trees while she was on the phone with what's-his-face and then she told us about how frustrated and stressed she was trying to get in and manoeuver her way around Centennial Park.
Had settled down after the longest line I'd ever seen, on the left side of the screen. Hired 3 beanbags, ate pasta bean salad, chicken, carrot sticks, corn, Turkish bread and sundried tomato dip and then the absolutely delicious Mousse Van Gogh for dessert. Drank Buck's Fizz and orange mango and apple peach juice.

Match Point the movie, quite dark, about an ambitious man who gets caught up in the upper class rich world of London. Uses his wife, has an affair, mainly likes and does anything to live comfortably. It leaves you with the same feeling as watching The Talented Mr. Ripley for the first time, an icky feeling, guilty, slight disgust. I swear, Woody Allen's movies are getting darker and darker as he gets older. But JRM is soooo pretty, yes he is.

So after an interesting ride home a la Anzac Bridge ;) we had some more melted cake and all went to talksy, then schleepsie poo.

So currently Cat is at my house for dinner, I think it's steak tonight, with scalloped potatoes, carrots, corn, salad. Now I have to catch up on ff...

Someone nicked our letterbox!! (edit)

If found, please return to Pun's house in Cheso. The house currently with no letterbox and no house number. Well the letterbox got nicked on Saturday so nothing was in it, 'cept for the family of spiders, some leaves and dirt. But still, why oh why a letterbox??? That's bizarre really.

EDIT:
So today is Monday, and I went to Parra today, after waking up early, taking my Abs and doing the laundry. I took the bus there and the train back. Either the busstop is not where it says it is, or the bus doesn't come for 50min, I spent 40min sitting at the busstop waiting, waiting, waiting, I got so annoyed I went to take the train home, which was surprisingly fast.
Well I had a dark chocolate frappe at Max Brenner today, actually that's ALL I've had, ok well other than the half a litre of water with my 2 doses of Abs today. Kinda feeling nibblish.

So concerning Val's:
- afternoon tea at La Renaissance, take away a wiiiide selection of cakes and pastries
- go to Oxford St, buy a bottle of champers, juice?, any other snacks wanted?
- Trees has a car! Yays!!!

Recent purchases:
- a few pairs of knickers - SOHO discounted currently, I would suggest it if you want cheap knickers, oh it's at GB
- black slip
- black cocktail dress
- black kinda Austen-esque dress
- brown top
- a few thigh high stockings
- 2 colour ink cartridges
- some stuff at B'N'T - which I probably shouldn't mention, ahh who cares, you know those moulding bra stuff

Bwhahaha, I've traumatised Trees, and possibly several other people.

Oh yes, teeth feeling alright, I think I'll take it slow on the carrot sticks though. And I think I'll be eating steak later on in the week. I made some French roasted onion soup, not bad if I can say so myself, good with toasted white bread.

Arrggghhh... I had my wisdom tooth out today...

I had 2 anaesthetic injections, gaahhh... I felt the pressure of the pushing and pulling, but none of the stitching up. Gaahh... currently my right side of my mouth is drooping, and also trying to wipe up all the drool coming outta my mouth. Gahhhhh... I feel like a geri. So I'm on 7 days of TDS prophylactic antibiotics (Amoxycillin) and breakthrough Panadeine for pain. You know, if people say childbirth is worse than cutting out a wisdom tooth, I am sooo never ever ever giving birth.

Anyways, so anyone wanna see my face blown up like a blowfish for the next few days, feel free to come stocking shopping with me some time soon.

Current noise background: Channel 10, Jamie Oilver stuff
Current craving: zilch, more so wanna remove this gauze from my mouth and cough out my phlegm and then wash it out with cold water. Then gargle. Gaaahhhh...

Sooo... my mum's leaving today (6th)... (edit)

My mum took me on a driving lesson today. I decided to just drive around my suburb for an hour coz I've never driven the Audi before. I really, really need someone to teach me how to park. My brother's refused to teach me how to park and I have zilch money for driving lessons. And yet he's a prat at me saying "Get your bloody licence." Yea, love brothers eh?

So we went to the fish markets today, we got the big lobster platter, half a lobster mornay, bbq octopus, calamari, 4 king prawns and chips. Also got 1 doz. oysters, half Pacific and half Sydney Rock. Oh and also 1L freshly squeezed orange juice, mmmm... and consequently bought another 2L to take home. We had to sit in the park coz there was absolutely no room at the Fish Markets. So headed over, sat down and ate. Very, very yummy.

So came by Strath and dropped off in Dan Murphys. We got this lovely wine (currently drinking) and 2 bottles of Dogajolo 2004, some Tuscan wine, which is apparently very good with full flavoured dishes. So I'm thinking of making some puttanesca or ragu of some sort to go with it. I think I won't be bringing it to Val's day coz I wanna try it first and see. I think perhaps a bottle of sparkling wine or champers would do good for Val's Day, dontcha think?

Things to do by say Thursday:
- call Commonwealth bank to give me student privileges
- buy a 21st birthday gift for Mish (well not by Thursday)
- Dental appointment Wednesday: bring NIB card
- Enrol at uni: I keep forgetting that I have to reenrol to do Hons, coz technically I've graduated. Bring tax file # - done
- Call Wong's mum to tell her not to buy a train ticket for the 25th - done

Current noise background: my wittle fan, my mum talking to my bro, Lethal Weapon 4
Current craving: water
Currently consuming: Baileys 1998 Shiraz - not bad, not bad at all, needs at least an hour to aerate though to make it extra smooth. ;)

Recent purchases: (I have a love-hate relationship with my mum's credit card)
Quite a few books on my booklist
- Old Wives' Tales: Fact of fiction - has already broken some old wives' tales which I found very amusing, and some quite true.
- The Blind Assassin - I decided to get another copy coz I figure I'd never see my first copy again
- Eve: Sex, childbirth and motherhood - currently reading, very informative and will gross some people out. Guranteed.
- The Serpent and the Moon - I haven't read it yet but it's definitely after I finish Old Wives' Tales
- Charlemagnes' Tablecloth - after I finish Eve. ;)

Edit:
I enrolled today, my bro and I drove to Parra, got told that EVERYONE now enrols at Werrington campus (bastards). So we had to drive all the way out to Penrith. Finished enrolling at around 1545. Decided to get some breakfast, SOS-ed Angi for places to eat in Penrith, decided to go to Parra instead. I had stir fried beef rice noodles for breakfast at 1630 today. Currently feeling very bloated and kinda greeeeased out, ugggh... Will endeavour to eat less fatty food next time.

Today's purchases:
- Like water for chocolate - Cat has convinced me ;)
- Procedures for Nurse Practitioners - you know, bedtime reading ;)

No Hunter... :(

We can't go, coz my schtoopid brother has the sniffles. Although I haven't heard him sneeze all day. Still, pretty pointless to sniff wine through a blocked or runny nose. *rolls eyes* I guess I'd have to wait til April then :(

So, I'm gonna pop into Max Brenner tomorrow night, I need to check closing times coz I've convinced my mum that "Woman! You must try this chocolate!" Well I didn't actually call my mum 'Woman' and I didn't really use exclamation marks *roll eyes* but the message got across. So they'll pick me up from Parra tomorrow night after they get back from Port Stephens.

Yes, my bro and mum are going to Port Stephens tomorrow, on a tour. As in a Honky tour, where you're surrounded by 20 other clucking Honky tourists, speaking loudly, gossiping, laughing, gaaahhh... my mum kept trying to persuade me to go. No, I'd rather shoot myself in the foot, no no, I'd rather eat my own foot, no no no, I'd rather eat someone else's foot. Anyways, I gotta go to Parra tomorrow. ;)

So I have to call up the dentist tomorrow and make an urgent appointment for either Friday or Saturday. My wisdom teeth have been giving me some trouble this past week or so, and I really think I should get them checked out again, since one of them seems like it's not growing in-line-with-my-other-teeth. Hmmm. I guess it'll be porridge, ice cream, yoghurt, congee, soup (oh yes I now have a large collection of soup recipes, yays!) and drinks for awhile.

Gaaaaahhhh......

So my red pocket money has decreased severely today. Coz I've spend too much money on my mobile, so my brother's gonna take A$400 from me. Which is utterly ridiculous coz I didn't overuse it to A$400 AND any money for bills comes from our parents. So he was an angry prat and took A$200 from me! Which was from my saving up of red pockets for 2 years! I'd had so many darn HK$20 notes!! What the hell am I gonna do with notes and notes of approximately A$3.44??? Bleedin' hell.

So now I have to use red pocket money from my parents for Val's Day *grrr* It's not like he doesn't have any money, I need it more dammit, I have to enrol at uni and buy books this year. It's not like he has to go to uni, he's getting a job this year *ranting angrily* Great, so now I have to ask if my parents if they can add some more money to my account, which the likely answer is no, and "Why don't you work this year?"
Which just leads me to be frustrated coz I've answered that question, (no kidding) at least 6 times. Also I'd need more money from them anyway coz work insurance costs over $500 a year, and it has to be paid upfront. Sure, sure, I'll work. I really don't think they get how hard it is for someone's who's never nursed to get thrown in the deep end AND study fulltime as well. Since there's only been 2 people who've done that successfully since my supervisor's reign over the BN Hons Program, which is ages. *grrrrr* Ok ranting, ranting, get it all out before I explode...

Gahhhh... that reminds me, I have to call the Commonwealth Bank and tell them I'm still a student so they won't take away the student privileges, great. Now where's that letter, ah here it is.

Soooo... getting all that out, well I should have enough til Graduation in April, yea I do, I should stop buying books and on ebay. Ok Pun, stop buying stuff. Except essentials like groceries. They're important. And toilet paper, very important. Since I currently have a year's supply of soap in my room, seems I'll smell like either frangipani, sea breeeze or goat's milk and honey this year so no need to buy soap. At least that's one off the list. Hmmm...

I think my sore teeth and gums are putting me in a bad mood, or perhaps I'm just hormonal...? Ha, me hormonal, that'll be the day.

Oh sorry Ang, are you gonna be nearby my place or nearby Lily?

Current background noise: Chris Isaak - Somebody's crying
Current craving: peckish for something, I only had a lamb chop and a small bowl of soft, Chinese red spinach-y soup for dinner, (stupid wisdom teeth) so peckish yes.
