I am so gonna...

This is so screwed up, I can't believe they're doing this to us. I have 2 major assessments due after the 21st birthday parties. I am definitely not staying over at Kat's after her 21st. And barely even have time to do it coz I'm on afternoon shift for the first block.
There's an assessment due during the 2nd block of clinical.
And the worst thing is having 2 major assessments due at the same time on the same day!!! You friggin' bastards!!! The least they could do is give another 2 days to work on the smaller one. Bastards!
And I have to put together a CV, OMG what the hell am I gonna put in it?? Zilch, nil, nadda. Crap I am so screwed.
And then, we've got the consortium interviews (which you have to join to get a new graduate job, which most if not all hospitals want) on the days that we have uni AND assessments due!!! Arghhhhh!!!!
*venting venting* this is the crappiest piece of *swears uncontrollably* they've given us. I am so glad to be outta uni next year. Ok, maybe I'm saying that in anger, I will be crapping myself that I'll be outta uni next year.

In other news, I'm at Cumberland and Liverpool afternoon shifts for the first half of August. So I probably won't be posting at all. Dammit, that means I miss out on Stargate and Boston Legal!! Because I'm doing more important stuff.

Current mood: angry/annoyed/worried
Current craving: to pee
Concurrent online activity: Mugglenet.com

UPDATE 2157
Current craving: previous craving relieved, now feel like a hot buttered rum, but wee have no dark rum ;(

Current bgd noise: The Amazing Race

First day of the semester... can I go back on holidays??

I think the enormity of the semester hasn't quite struck me yet, I mean it's nudging me and poking me but it hasn't hit me over the head with a club yet. Maybe I should hit myself over the head to knock me back into reality? Or maybe one of you guys can do it for me? Ignorance is bliss but ignorance costs money and lots of time.

If I really wanna put all the effort needed for the upcoming assessments, I really shouldn't be going to any birthday parties for the next couple of months. In fact, looking at just this one unit outline, I think the only way I'm gonna communicate with you guys are via blogs. *sigh* kill me, kill me now.

Well I haven't got the clinical placements yet, they'll probably post it up tomorrow. I hope I don't get Long Bay gaol coz that would be hell to get to and back. And you can't wear green.

Anyways I made some pecan brownies for supper at yabs tonight. Remind me to buy double cream and strawberries if I make it with you guys.

If I ignore the uni work, will it disappear? Will it? Will it??

Welcome back to Sydney everyone!

Finally, I can post something that will be viewed by more than 2 people. Song contest has started up again.

Well, well, mine and Karen's final semester is starting on Monday *cringe*. I was just reading up my unit outlines, I'm gonna be squashed down with work and clinical this semester, and exams! I thought 3rd year/2nd sem's don't have exams in our course, but I have been shot down by the unit outline *thinks of heading to the drink cupboard*. Which is bloody fantabulous coz that means uni, clinical, clinical, uni, clinical, vac, clinical, uni, exams, clinical, clinical, clinical, clinical, graduation. Then ward for the rest of my life unless I decide to move upwards, which I've decided already anyway. ;)

Oh yes, my clinicals are in early August, so I suggest people check some people's calendar to make sure that they don't have a university-related-scheduled-excursion either.

Well, AnCon, sounded and looked like lots of fun. I wish I was at SydUni just for that reason. ;) Learnt much, sang a lot?

Anyways, if Trees, you wanna borrow HP, feel free. Organise getting it off me by phone. Otherwise it's $27.95 at most places, Target, DJ, GB, Kmart, Dymocks, I'm not sure about BigW but they were $22.43 last week. Possibly popped it back up since.

So, Yabs has started up last week which is good. Only I hate how clinical drains me out, and if they put me on afternoon shift, that means, I'd miss out on nighttime telly as well. Oh yes, SG-1 and Atlantis has started up in the US again so I'm downloading! *mad grin*
Also, my bro downloaded the rest of season 4 of Gilmore Girls! And we just finished watching it last night *jumps up and down*. Oh you will wanna watch it, believe me, you do, you do!!

Yay! DPDO arrrived, now I have both!

Although I suspect the cover and case has seen better days, I posted that on the seller's feedback, I hope I don't get negative feedback, I wonder if she understands sarcasm?? Coz of course Germans are renowned for sarcasm..

So I'm 2/3 of the way through HP. Shall I spoil it for you readers?? Shall I? Shall I? Although a certain thread has got me screaming silently through the book (as in I can't scream out loud at 0330 in the morning, coz my bro might think there's a burglar in the house, I mean the thread's not that bad, it just has me screaming and squirming). And whenever I think of it I feel like jumping up and down and waving my arms in the air. Ah, shall spoil and discuss with HP readers when they come back online. And when you guys get through at least 1/3 of the book.

I'll type a review possibly in the 2nd week of uni, that gives people plenty of time to read it. I'll also start up the song guessing comp when people start uni.

For some strange reason I'm losing my touch with logic problems, as in the wordy box ones that Cat, Viv and Leach know I'm addicted to. I mean I've been doing it for 9 years now but I'm losing my touch, what to do, what to do. I better slow down on the sudoku and pick up the logic problems. Maybe it's the holidays, I usually buy a logic problem book during stuvac instead of studying... and speaking about that, yays! I got C, C, D, C. So no need for part time this semester, which means, God willing, I'll be graduating this year (well really it'll be January and the ceremony in April but really who cares about those details).

Now I gotta organise I decent timetable, sadly still 4 days a week.

HP came out today!

Well I got it from Target this arvo, $27.95, phew!
Also, let's see recent purchases:
- DPDO - pompous one
- HP & HBP
- POTO dvd (1925)
- a kaftan (very nice)
- black silk pants (might wear it with the kaftan)
- finally, a pendant for my necklace (gotta love half price stuff)
- an ice cream scoop (self explanatory)
- a pastry brush
- a wittle whisk (whisking sauces, cream, eggs)
Missed out on getting the POTO special edition dvd, but I will get it, I will get it *says the obssessed Pun*

Well, went to Newtown yesterday and went for some retail therapy with Cat, after long, long waiting at the train station (I hate Cityrail). Got some clothes and accessories and had tandoori chicken pizza, garlic bread and a scotch coffee for (what would you call it, afternoon but-didn't-actually-have-any-breakfast tea).
Still gotta find something for Kat's cocktail though. Since being accused in HK thrice of wearing dresses which are cut too low are a tad discouraging. Also when the bride points out "You've brought the big guns out" when you really didn't intend to, is also a bit discouraging. *sigh* I'm sure I'll find something.
But I can't stand going clothes shopping. It's turning out to be a dread now coz I get hyped up about buying something nice to wear, and when I get to the shops, they're all outta my size or it's just heinously ugly. So now clothes shopping seems like a chore. *sigh* I'll find something though. Coincidentally, the kaftan is a tad low.

Gotta read HP now, it's been sitting on my table since around 1500 and I haven't even read one word of it, well 'cept the title. I gotta make a hot chocolate and maybe eat some strawberries, I just had a very nice mandarin though. Maybe some gelato so I can make use of the ice cream scoop. I also gotta use up the puff pastry, I wonder if it expired yet?? Hmm.

Well I'm gonna take a shower, wash my hair, then eat gelato, drink hot chocolate and read HP.

Oh yes
Donation to Lilyfield: a "used once only" Woddle Maker (it's still good, I swear), 1 x bottle of Herbal essences conditioner, 1 x packet Cadbury hot choc (what was I thinking?!). And return to Cat: Possession

Yays! My packages arrived!

Hehehe the double CD of DPDO from Germany and 'The Sultan's Harem' from Canada arrived today! Yays! CD box is a tad scratched though but the CDs are in a great condition so I'm happy *jumps up and down*

Wong's in Sydney!

Anyone wanna come out for lunch with Wong and I. Outside Oportos at Central at 1100. Pancakes! :)

Batman begins

"Batman Begins was a good movie, very good in comparison to the last 2. Absolutely beautiful landscapes and Christian Bale as the dark, brooding Batman is very enjoyable to watch, also *cough* easier on the eyes than all the other Batmans ;) Explanations of all the gadgets and Batcar is good so you don't have to stay guessing 'What, you can order a car like that to go??'Apparently I'm not allowed to put up spoilers. Some bits are predictable, ok, the plot's pretty predictable (you'll know what I mean when you see it). All in all, I'm giving it 3 1/2 stars, how 'bout you reader?"

Had lunch in Btown today, my uni friend got me an oil burner for my bday! Yays! Another reason to set the house alight. And got me an apricot danish coz I said I didn't have a sweet tooth. Then I paid for her movie ticket since I missed out on her bday :( :)

Went around to Spotlight today, bought some black cheesecloth to make something out of. But Cat knows what I really, really, really want ;) It's surprisingly hard to find a pattern for a dressing gown like that, I must've spent 30min standing at the store looking through patterns. And I think even if I get a robe pattern, I have to tighten it, lengthen it, make shorter and tighter sleeves, add ruffles. *sigh* Let's see what happens.

Fell asleep during Sophie's World tonight, must read book again, using the brain in reading is preferable to being fed ideas through a television screen. Not saying it's crap, philosophy is something to think through. And all the essays are cut down as well. Ah well, what can I say, I don't like books changed from how I remember them *sigh*.

Need to go grocery shopping again, need tea, milk and strawberries. Also have a party tomorrow night, I nearly forgot about that. Eep.

Thursday, July 07, 2005

Yays! Finally got most of the CDs burnt

But my bro refuses to burn 4 of the cds because they're all under 60min each, yea that's because they're albums *grumble grumble*

No guesses for the song, it's pretty (very) obvious what it is. However, you can join me in singing it oh-so-in-tune. ;)

In other news, I got the 18th bday present so no more rushing around. And my bro and I will probably be shopping in Flemington today for zee ever disappearing vegies, not as curious as the ever disappearing any-form-of-chocolate-in-the-house.

So if say, Viv for some reason is in Flemington today, feel free to find me in Ram's Indian and Sri Lankan takeaway, I will be the only Korean-looking person there. ;)

Greetings to any stalkers out there, feel free to post and not lurk, as boredom is slowly (rapidly) closing over. Except ad spam, ad spam is very annoying. Just a note, I have no male reproductive organs and very much hope not to have any increased in size, I have life insurance, I have a good mobile deal, I enjoy being an Australian citizen and don't feel the need to become American and thank you, I don't want to say 'Hi' to any suspiciously forward women/girls.

;)

Ok one more song up.

Well dad went back to HK today, woke up early this morning (more due to the fact the lawn mower guy called the private phone, how in the world did he get that one??). But since I was awake anyway, went and bought some cream and double cream to make scones before dad headed off. Oi vey, I don't think I reacted well with the double cream...... good scones though :)

So I haven't been doing anything today, had a nap this arvo considering I slept around 0420. Took down the laundry, did the dishes, starting to feel a bit sick from dinner, leftover Chinese pork knuckle with noodles, ugggggghhhhh... (as quoting Eric Idle).

Must go present shopping tomorrow, possibly Parramatta, my bro said I'm taking him to uni tomorrow. I replied I've only driven my car once and not even as far as my uni (15min away) let alone Parra (25min away). Got some more ideas for presents which is good. So I don't have to turn up guessing at what to buy, well too much anyway.

I'm planning on making some desserts these holidays, at least experiment with the recipes, but I don't have a sweet tooth at all *sigh* what to do? what to do?
Anyone want to come over and just make desserts for the sake of making desserts?
Or curries? Or wintry stuff? Or cooking? Strangely relaxing for me.

So full...

I'm thinking maybe I should stop putting up songs til more people actually get back. Otherwise I'd be tempted to put up folk and Dixie Chick songs so only one person would get it. Ok, this will be the last one for awhile.

Thank you everyone who wished me a happy birthday *virtual hugs to all*

Unfortunately Rhinedorf wasn't open tonight! So I didn't get to have German food *starts to bawl* ah well. We drove past looking for a parking spot (and apparently it's still a clearway around 1830) and the lights weren't on, so instead we went for Japanese. Dad was suggesting Peking duck but I insisted on having it with you guys some time down the track.

So at Japanese we had:
- sashimi
- grilled ox tongue
- rolled beef with spring onions
- seaweed salad
- unagi oshi-sushi
- tempura mix
- deep fried soft shell crab
- agedashi tofu
- miso soup and rice
- and green tea ice cream! Yum!

Still not the stein of pilsner I wanted but good replacement. Came home very stuffed, and positively absolutely about to chuck with the amount of food in.

Other news, dad's leaving tomorrow at 1500. So that means no more rides to church and shopping. Still gotta buy 1/2 dozen bottles of Sangiovese. I called the Stanmore vintage cellars and they said they didn't have any in. But I put an order form in and hopefully they'll call by Friday so I can pick it up before the 20% off ends.

I feel like making waffles tomorrow, should I make waffles tomorrow? I need to use up the rest of the flour in the house so I have some options:
- scones
- fat rascals
- pound cake
- waffles
- soda bread

Cat, do you want some scones sometime during the week? Or waffles? Anyone else?

Tis mee birthday!

Well well, thank you Cat *virtual hug* the first one to say Happy Birthday, second my dad said Happy Birthday, still waiting for my bro to say it, but he usually waits til around 11am in the morning when I'm still asleep and decides to yell it in my ear *grumble grumble*

Going for German food tonight, can't wait. I feel like a tasting plate, a stein of pilsner and a herrenbecher (brandied sour cherries with vanilla ice cream and cream, yum!).

Now waiting for pompous phantom auction to end on the 13th, hopefully I'll get it this time. In other news, I gotta go buy an 18th present this week, preferably before Friday but with my luck on waking up, will probably be Friday. And one obstructing factor is the HSC, can't get any concert, theatre tickets. *sigh* Will think of something soon enough. And probably will get something with church people, maybe.

I'm currently reloading photos into my photobucket so now you can view Friday's chocolate, Terrigals and Wong's 21st.

Cat: if you're reading this, go do your essay.

So, what to do these hols:
- Greek treasures from Bernaki Museum @ Powerhouse
- Batman Begins
- Anything at Soup Plus

Craaaaaaaaaaaap...

Bid? Don't bid? Bid? Don't bid?

I got the times wrong for the pompous Phantom, I thought it was 2051, but it's actually 0526. I won the sleazy Phantom but now I've got just over 2 hours and 20 minutes to see if I wanna bid. Craaaaaaaaaaaaaap.

Bid:
- if under 12,06 euros - it'll be cheaper than amazon.de
- p+h cheaper as well
- staying up til 6

Don't bid:
- go to sleep
- wonder what the final bid was and kick myself if it's under 12,06
- but it's the only new one I've seen, others are used
- it's worth the p+h for a new CD, rather than a used CD
- wait for another time and use the credit card then

Help! I know noone will be up at this time on the net, but there's no harm in raving.

Well everyone's leaving ay?

Damn oh well, it'll just be Cat, Viv and I to post regularly. Well that means I can put country songs up, or just buy a tonne of toffee apples next time I see you guys?

So what happened Kat? Or should I get the indirect story from others?

Anyways, went shopping today at Kathmandu (yay for thermals!) No not stripey polypropylene ones, now they're Thermaplus activewear, nice and black so I can wear it outside without looking like an exotic candy cane.

So, now what are we gonna do these hols? Go out, spend time with Cat so she's not so lonely, all alone, thinking of marriage, in her cold, cold house. Eating bolognese and stir fry.

So Trees, are you doing anything this year or shall I jump up and down wondering?

Bidding for DPDO (sleazy version) this morning at 0225, still considering bidding. I'm looking at amazon.de and the price of their new one starts at 22,99 euros. Whereas right now on ebay it's 11,12. Well if it gets anymore than 20 euros, I'll stop bidding, maybe.
And the DPDO (pompous version) ends at 2051 tonight, after church. So that means rushing back home and bidding, otherwise a new one on amazon.de costs 12,06 euros. Someone should take this Paypal account from me...

Friday, July 01, 2005

Thank you everyone who came

New song up, congrats Angi!

Had a great time stuffing faces and feeling very chocolated out! :D
Thank you everyone for the presents, I'm looking forward to reading in bed and drinking lots of cups of tea :D :D and eating Baci chocolates :D :D

Well I am also looking forward to buying both DPDO, sleazy and pompous, well sleazy ;) Thank you for the votes, you all know I'd love to be Christine in the Music of the night scene ;) :D

The balls of my feet aren't hurting anymore, which is good, well since I'm now at home, busy writing a post. Lesson: only wear those boots if you ain't gonna walk much.

Got a bday prez off my mum, sent it from HK on Monday. Got it on Thursday, surprisingly quick. Some Crabtree and Evelyn stuff, my favourite Lily of the Valley *takes a sniff* ahhh...

Lol, I just opened my mail today, first HECS debt. Second *rotflmao* the lecturer for one my first year subjects recommended me to be a volunteer student mentor *rotf*. Hurrumpf, not getting paid, training days on the day of my Tutorial registration, at the busiest time of a nursing student's degree, 3rd year, 2nd semester. LOL. Yea.... no thanks. And, oi vey, I hate teaching people, drives me insane, and I don't even work as an EN let alone AIN.
Lol, ahh... good laugh for the night.

Yays! Bid and won! Colin Falconer, not DPDO yet :)

Yays! The Sultan's Harem by Colin Falconer, finally, I think it's been on my wishlist for over 2 years. Now I can wipe it off :D And I got it for cheap too A$14.78 for book and p+h. I love our exchange rate :D

So, I had to put a new song up, the previous song was 'Bette Davis Eyes' sung by originally Kim Carnes or, the remake by Gwyneth Paltrow. She actually sings it quite well, there's all the right swooning sounds at the right moments.

Anyways, if you do read this before CQ tomorrow. Better skip dinner, just lunch and chocolate then. 'Tis too cold for me to stay out too long in the city *hear my bones creak* *starts attmepting to creak bones* But I gotta check out the closing times for ABC shop in QVB, wanna buy book. Otherwise 10% at Kinokuniya it is. Very tempted to make and eat lots of puddings, well it is winter, not gluttony.

So should I buy the Hamburg or Vienna DPDO cd? Anyone, help?

Viv: no worries :D I changed it to spuninjam. And you're the only person I've emailed for ages... I only very very recently changed it.
